SUMMARY:
The Manager, Sales Operations is a cross-functional role that is responsible for the Motion sales operation function and works collaboratively with the field sales leadership teams and other corporate functions to achieve sales excellence in the following areas: variable pay, customer relationship management (CRM), salesforce productivity improvement, sales crediting, territory management & planning, and other technology platforms tied to salesforce effectiveness.
JOB DUTIES Responsible for the management and administration of variable pay management system(s).
This includes system functionality, system enhancements, plan designs, quota setting, sales crediting, commission calculations, plan performance tracking and reporting.
Participates in the sales planning process, including territory design, sales process improvement and customer assignments.
Works with field leadership teams and Human Resources (HR) to identify opportunities to align variable pay with productivity.
Develops key performance indicators (KPIs) to assist leadership in understanding sales best practices, trends and performance management opportunities to drive increased success.
Works with the field teams on re-assignment of accounts to ensure proper alignment of the sales resource with the sales potential of areas and accounts.
Collaborates with key stakeholders in Product Management, Marketing, IT, and others to develop a centralized location where sales tools such as marketing collateral, product door openers and sales best practices can be easily accessed by field sales teams.
Partners with Talent Acquisition to have a consistent process around identifying high potential sales talent internally and externally.
Tracks the performance and productivity of individual sellers and projects.
Supports management of user changes, development of reports, optimization updates and overall adoption with the field.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Typically requires a bachelor's degree and seven (7) or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Prior experience in a sales operations or sales finance role.
Well-developed capabilities in problem-solving and streamlining processes.
Expert ability to analyze data and organize it into useful information.
Strong business acumen and understanding of financial metrics related to distribution.
Ability to adapt, adjust and move with speed to execute on priorities.
Strong time and project management skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with executive leadership in an open, friendly and accepting manner.
Ability to develop rapport, influence others and maintain strong working relationships cross-functionally.
Strong and professional written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Proven business development success through effective use of core sales tools such as CRM.
Knowledge of territory design and planning, compensation design, quota setting and business analytics.
