As a member of the Assessment Product team, the Senior Assessment Product Analyst works closely across the product team and functional groups.
The Product Analyst has technical knowledge and expertise in the development of K-12 assessment products and is responsible for supporting the overall product vision and theory of action to ensure that the products meets the needs of stakeholders.
The Product Analyst plays a key role in executing the School Assessment product strategy.
Responsibilities: Product Related Activities Identifies trends, creates norms, and creates reports where these results can be used to inform the product Creates presentations with meaningful graphics and visualizations to present to internal and external stakeholders Develop recommendations for the future of the product.
Measure the strategic effectiveness of the product Designs efficacy and evaluation studies and product analysis specifications Coordinates analysis resources, completes study documentation, and conducts formal reports for written or oral presentation Calibration and Equating Demonstrates skill with common classification, scaling, and equating designs to create and review technical documentation (including technical specifications and technical report) Guides and designs analyses for item calibration, linking, and equating to be carried out by Pearson’s Measurement Services team Designs, documents (including technical specifications) AND/OR coordinates the efforts of others (including external verifiers), in item calibration, linking, and equating analyses Test Construction/Field Testing Organizes, supports, and coordinates with other subject-matter experts, and on all aspects of content development, test form design and construction, and field test item preparation and review Builds computer adaptive test input files and runs simulations to support operational test administrations as needed OR reviews simulation results as an expert reviewer Knowledge of Educational Trends Proposes product analysis studies relevant to key problems students, families, and educators are facing Upholds the principles defined by the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing Brings unique perspective on creating psychometric solutions for comprehensive assessment systems that include interim assessments with a goal of improving student learning outcomes Communication Skills, Technical Presentations, and Client Contact Demonstrates communication skills, (oral, written, and business), necessary to function effectively Effectively tailors technical presentations to different audiences Presents at national conferences Submits manuscripts for publication Project and Talent Management Demonstrates project management skills necessary to execute tasks and analysis projects on time and within the allocated budget Organizational Behavior Ensures that product marketing claims are rooted in evidence.
Based on product analysis, provides input that informs future product enhancements Works collaboratively with the product team’s leadership, technology, content, psychometric, implementation support, sales, and marketing functional teams Education and Work Experience Advanced degree in educational measurement or a related field from a nationally recognized institution of higher education At least five years of relevant job experience with technical assessment analysis and educational assessment study projects Familiarity with psychometric techniques or techniques associated with other relevant educational assessment areas Familiarity with Software Packages and Programming Languages Applies packages and programming languages commonly used in measurement research (e.
g.
, SAS, R, WINSTEPS, IRTPro, Python) to new and unique settings faced in operational testing programs or research projects OR experience with software (Matlab, IDL, PERL, Java, Javascript, XML) associated with the analyst’s specific area of expertise and ability to apply these packages supporting assessment products or programs.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively apply solutions utilizing psychometric techniques—including classical test theory, item response theory, test equating, scaling, and linking OR has experience applying and designing statistical analysis in support of an educational product Ability to read, write and debug existing SAS macros or conduct product analysis in other software programs Working Location and Travel This position is remote Travel will not exceed 10% Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $115,000 - $130,000.
