Position Summary
The SEO Manager is responsible for the development, execution, and management of innovative, results-oriented, cross-channel search engine optimization strategies and campaigns.
This role requires a deep understanding of SEO best practices, trends, and the ability to drive organic growth and enhance web visibility.
Develop and oversee the company's SEO strategy, ensuring alignment with broader digital marketing goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content, web development, design, social and performance marketing, to ensure SEO best practices are embedded and cohesive throughout digital efforts.
The Manager, SEO plays a pivotal role in harnessing the power of organic search to reach the organization’s objectives.
By leveraging their expertise and leadership skills, they aim to position the organization prominently in search results, ultimately driving traffic, engagement, and conversions.
The Manager, Search Engine Optimization is also responsible for leading and developing the SEO Analyst and the partnership with our SEO agency.
Duties & Responsibilities Plan, develop and implement strategic development for SEO campaigns, initiating from the campaign's inception and traversing through its post-launch and analytical phases.
Identifying points of optimization proactively along the way.
Manager, SEO owns and leads development of Local SEO strategy, GMB listings, listings provider, and related content and optimization recommendations, analysis, and execution.
Ownership of and ongoing updates to the SEO strategy and roadmap including project management, development of requirements, and QA of all SEO projects Provide oversight, recommendations and POV on all web related projects that have the potential to impact SEO performance.
Lead, manage, and mentor SEO Analyst to increase SEO team productivity and team member engagement and personal growth.
Lead and develop partnership with SEO agency and all related roadmaps and projects to ensure we receive maximum benefit and properly articulating any potential downsides.
Conduct in-depth keyword analysis to unearth gaps and untapped opportunities, and then devise and roll out on-page optimization tactics and content guidelines to bolster organic visibility.
Partner with Performance Marketing team and agency to develop keyword strategy and reporting across SEO and SEM Conduct comprehensive technical assessments of websites to pinpoint areas needing attention, rank action items by importance, and frame user narratives for development phases.
Examine website server logs, crawl diagnostics, and analytics summaries to strategize enhancements in crawl efficiency and content indexation.
Evaluate web analytics to offer performance feedback to our team, improve Core Web Vitals, discern visitor patterns and trends, and inform subsequent actions.
Keep a pulse on emerging search marketing evolutions, disseminate findings, and equip the team and leadership to navigate the rapidly changing digital landscape.
Forge synergies with internal teams and client groups to consistently surpass established goals.
Employ media analysis tools (e.
g.
, SEM Rush, Similar Web, Comscore) to craft compelling narratives for clients.
Collaborate with Product, UX, Content, and Web Development teams to champion and embed SEO best practices throughout projects.
Coordinate and engage in presentations, offering detailed performance reports, analytical insights, and actionable recommendations aligned with set objectives and KPIs.
Actively steward SEO best practices across diverse platforms and channels, foresee potential challenges, and propose solution-oriented strategies.
Monitor, analyze, and report on key SEO metrics, including traffic, rankings, and conversions.
Provide actionable insights based on analytics data, ensuring continuous optimization of strategy.
Stay informed on the effectiveness of SEO campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
Be at the forefront of industry trends, Google algorithm updates, and best practices.
Conduct regular training sessions for internal teams, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of SEO advancements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in marketing, IT, Business, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on SEO experience with previous management experience, with a proven track record of driving organic growth and traffic.
Experience leading internal teams and agencies.
Experience leading SEO end to end in a highly matrixed lead driven organization.
Expertise in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console.
Experience working with crawlers such as Screaming Frog and DeepCrawl Strong understanding of technical SEO, on-page optimization, and off-page optimization.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as it pertains to SEO.
Strategic/creative thinker, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically to deliver business results.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
An analytical mindset with a focus on measuring communications effectiveness, in driving meaningful actions from data, and generating results.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Ability to thrive in a fast-paced matrixed environment with multiple assignments, stringent deadlines, and changing priorities.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $130,000 - $160,000.
