Position Summary The Senior Manager, Merchandising Communications & Engagement reports to the Director, Merchandising Communications and will help develop and execute business unit communications strategy focused tactics.
This role will target internal and external audiences, from retail and enterprise colleagues to vendors and suppliers.
This individual will collaborate with various teams across the Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness organization to deliver best-in-class colleague and consumer experiences through effective partnership and articulation of clear goal/outcomes.
This individual is a key member of the CVS Merchandising Communications team and involves a high degree of relationship building and serves as a trusted partner within Merchandising and across the broader company in Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Human Resources, and Legal, as well as external stakeholders including agency partners and consultants.
Responsibilities include: Write, edit, and/or coordinate distribution of information to market, promote and increase the visibility of initiatives and accomplishments of the Front Store Retail organization.
Ensure consistency in our brand messaging and style guide adoption as provided by Marketing and Enterprise Communications while driving connection to our company’s Purpose, Behaviors and Culture.
Manage internal colleague recognition opportunities for department; support external engagement opportunities as specified by Director Collaborate with Merchandising, Store Operations and Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness on communication strategy execution impacting internal and external audiences Partner with cross-functional teams on content development and planning for key internal and external events, hosted by and/or representing Merchandising (e.
g.
monthly department meetings, annual supplier summit, etc.
) Support engagement measurements and return on investment tracking based on communications strategy Curate surprise and delight assortments for key stakeholder engagements Provide content and creative support for Merchandising executive social media requests Required Qualifications 4+ years Communications experience which includes developing and executing communication plans, coordination of internal communications channels, writing a variety of content (e.
g.
, leader memos, executive talking points, presentations, etc.
) Ability to travel as needed to support business needs (~4 times annually) Proven experience developing and executing successful communication programs at the enterprise or business unit level for major corporate organizations, retail experience a plus.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize business strategies into communication solutions and ability to set strategy and maintain channel focus.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships; integrate strategies; and connect the dots between messages, timing, and activities under other leaders’ influence.
Adjust communication style to the audience to help them understand and accept change.
Proven experience managing and motivating high-performing colleagues in cross-functional execution of strategies against outlined plans.
Preferred Qualifications 3+ years at leading retailer or CPG company work experience.
Corporate and agency PR experience a plus.
Strategic and analytical thinker, with superior problem-solving skills and the ability to support tactical execution without losing site of the overall strategy Experience meeting with and presenting plans to senior leaders Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with other professionals in a matrixed organization toward a common goal Strong verbal communications skills with the ability to listen, articulate your ideas and advocate best practice solutions for content and communications Education Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
(Will consider combination of education and years of relevant work experience) Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $79,200.
00 - $170,800.
00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
