Summary The Business Development Manager identifies, develops, manages, and executes the organization's business development strategies in a defined territory to expand the number of banks that we can empower.
Develops, negotiates and implements partnerships and new customer relationships by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identifies, qualifies, and secures new business opportunities Develops strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market products or services Develops and implements channel marketing strategic plans and goals to meet corporate objectives and increase market share Collaborates with internal departments and external partners in the development and implementation of business development strategies, plans and business models Develops relationships with executives at banks and in the industry so they understand the unique bank technology outfitter model Seeks out and researches prospective customers through making cold calls, traveling, attending conferences, creating campaigns, monitoring banking news, and utilizing social media Manages relationships with various prospects and partners Estimates demand for proposed projects based on market research and industry / customer trends Leads business development or alliance development projects including deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence and other items necessary to the role Provides input on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs Creates informative presentations; Presents and delivers information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows and conferences Responds to client requests for proposals (RFPs) Creates and maintains a list/database of prospective clients Closes sales and works with client through onboarding process Collaborates with management on sales goals, planning and forecasting Qualifications Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree required or High School Diploma/general education degree (GED) with equivalent work experience At least 10 years of experience with financial institutions, industries that serve them, or the technology that supports the industry Experience in enterprise solution selling Knowledge and Skill Knowledge of networking concepts Knowledge of bank technology Understanding of solution selling sales concepts Communication, relationship building and management skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels in a financial institution Synthesizes complex or diverse information Collaborates and builds consensus across the team to meet prospects personal and business needs Generates creative solutions Communicates complex technology topics and issues in a technical and non-technical way for all audiences to understand Analyzes market and competition and adapts business development strategy to changing conditions Develops innovative approaches and ideas; presents them in a manner that gets others' attention Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, usually waist high, up to 50 feet away.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
