Posting Identification Number 10-07-32772 Position Overview The Office of Fiscal Services is seeking to hire a dynamic, organized, detail-oriented coordinator to perform professional work in identifying, developing, and implementing collection programs for the Bureau of Collections.
This position plans, organizes and implements procedures for the identification, referral of potential administrative support cases for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Cash Assistance overpayments; prepares small claims complaints; acts as the Bureau’s representative in overpayment proceedings; and as liaison between the Family Community Resource Centers and the Bureau of Collections staff regarding overpayments and recovery activities.
Job Responsibilities Serves as an Overpayment Coordinator for the Bureau of Collections.
Reviews and responds to cases referred by caseworkers/Bureau of Collections staff for recalculations.
Serves as liaison between the Family Community Resource Centers and the Bureau of Collections staff for recalculations.
Initiates and prepares periodic reports regarding overpayment and administrative support activity in the designated areas.
Confers and makes recommendations to management staff regarding the appropriate referral of overpayment and administrative support accounts.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with coursework in business or public administration.
Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, OR completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
Specialized Skills: Of the one (1) year of administrative experience, requires one (1) year of experience processing overpayments and maintaining accounts receivables, including experience in a public assistance eligibility system such as the Accounts Receivable System (ARS) and/or the Integrated Eligibility System (IES).
Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of professional experience communicating with clients on a high volume, daily basis regarding their overpayment accounts.
One (1) year of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite or similar word processing/spreadsheet/database software.
One (1) year of professional experience working with Federal regulations and Illinois laws, rules, and regulations with special emphasis on welfare programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and the Cash Assistance Programs.
One (1) year of professional experience processing overpayments and maintaining accounts receivable for a public or private organization.
One (1) year of professional experience utilizing the principles and practices of public and business administration.
One (1) year of professional experience developing and managing a small agency function program.
Conditions of Employment Requires a current Illinois driver’s license and the ability to travel.
