Provides consultation to the psychiatrists.
Participates actively on medical staff committees.
Serves as Medical Officer of the Day (MOD).
*Job Responsibilities* * Serves as a primary physician specializing in internal medicine.
* Provides consultation to the psychiatrists.
* Participates actively on medical staff committees.
* Participates in all Department of Human Services and Packard Mental Health Center mandatory training.
* Provides evaluation and treatment for injured employees.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
*Minimum Qualifications* * Requires an Illinois license to practice medicine and completion of an approved residency in Internal Medicine.
*Preferred Qualifications* * One (1) year of professional experience evaluating and providing quality medical care to adult patients.
* One (1) year of professional experience evaluating, diagnosing and treating adult patients in accordance with best practices.
* One (1) year of professional experience coordinating medical services with other professional disciplines and supportive personnel.
* One (1) year of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
* One (1) year of professional experience preparing comprehensive and specialized medical records and reports.
* One (1) year of professional experience ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
*Conditions of Employment* * Requires the ability to serve as Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) after business hours, weekends and holidays in case of emergency.
* Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
* Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
