As a K-12 product manager within Pearson's higher education courseware group, you will specialize in understanding and advocating for the needs of our high school customers who use Pearson courseware to teach their Advanced Placement, Honors, Electives and/or Career and Technical Education courses.
You will drive innovative ideas, solutions, processes, and products with decisive action.
You will work collaboratively with other product management teams across Pearson to ensure K-12 use cases are considered and supported, and you will work directly with development teams who build features specifically for our K-12 customers.
You will become an expert in the Pearson systems and tools that enable K-12 customers to purchase and onboard our higher education courseware.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is detail-oriented and able to manage complex projects.
The candidate must be a team player and strong communicator who can build relationships with stakeholders on various teams and levels across the organization.
This role will report to the Manager of Product Management for Higher Education Courseware into the K-12 market.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary starts at $95,000, dependent upon experience.

Responsibilities: Develop expertise in a portfolio of products/services and advocate for the needs of K-12 customers in user experience and feature development Serve as technical product manager for new K-12 feature development, creating requirements, managing backlog, prioritizing development, and engaging directly with engineering team Collaborate with commercial product managers, content strategy, digital studio, and website release to ensure K-12 courses are planned and executed according to specifications Collaborate with product owners, product managers, and other cross-functional teams across Higher Education to ensure K-12 use cases are understood and requirements are implemented according to K-12 user needs Lead and support continual process improvement by proposing and solutioning optimizations for unique K-12 workflows and user experiences Work with Manager of Product Management to define product roadmap and growth opportunities Assist in creation of product-related documentation and go-to-market activities Analyze usage data and customer feedback to inform roadmap and prioritization of requirements Develop rapport and trust with key stakeholders across Higher Education, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), and Digital & Technology (D&T) teams Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or a minimum 3+ years' experience in product/program management or software development Demonstrated prior experience leading cross-functional projects and building cross-platform solutions Experience with Agile development methodologies and prioritizing backlogs for development teams; experience with Jira is a plus Detail-oriented, with ability to prioritize roadmaps and workload Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, for both technical and non-technical topics Project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong listener, with ability to interview customers and stakeholders to understand what problems we need to solve for and translate those into product requirements Strong team-player attitude, with ability to work well independently Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
