Safety Manager

Position Overview
As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the project’s Safety team and implementation of safety programs to ensure safe operations while minimizing company risk & cost.
Responsibilities
Manage the project Safety team to effectively communicate safety policies to project employees and ensure compliance with those policies, including training, field audits, safety meetings, staff development, and management meetings.
Conduct worksite inspection to ensure adherence to company ES&H policies, permits, and procedures.
Create reports and documentation of ES&H activities.
Provide employee safety training and education.
Manage procurement of ES&H supplies and equipment.
Provide emergency preparedness and injury/incident management.
Promote a positive safety atmosphere while re-enforcing positive behaviors, accountability of actions, and encouragement for changes leading to improvements.
Develop and implement site-specific safety policies to address unique work scopes.
Facilitate day-to-day activities related to safety.
Investigate incidents occurring on site while managing any injuries.
Prepare reports and discuss findings with management team to develop corrective actions to prevent future reoccurrence of similar events.
Work closely with Corporate Safety Director to manage worker’s compensation claims for work related injuries.
Lead and advise the emergency response team.
Serve as the lead/point-of-contact for any local, state, or federal inspectors such as OSHA, EPA, Fire department, or insurance companies.
Maintain working relationship with project client to address or answer any safety related concerns.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
4-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health.
7-10 years of industry experience.
Certification in CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar.
Ability to understand and use technology.
Extensive working knowledge of OSHA/EPA/NFPA/ANSI.
Competency in industrial hygiene principles and emergency planning and response skills.
Strong communication, coordination, and time management skills.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
Experience working on industrial solar projects preferred.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
