POSTED DATE:January 26, 2024 CLOSING DATE:Open Until Filled Reporting to the Director of District/School Leadership, coordinates and provides support to rural school districts throughout the state.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works collaboratively with other agency departments to provide technical assistance and other support services to rural district superintendents and district senior leadership on continuous improvement, compliance, fiscal, and other issues.
Manages and coordinates research and/or data collection in conjunction with the Data Strategies & Analytics department and Teaching & Learning center related to rural school districts unfilled teaching positions, demographic trends, licensure inequities, and other areas of need and opportunity.
Provides leadership, support, and resources in response to district needs in the administration of the Title V Grant.
Ensures the application and direction of agency policies, state/federal rules, guidelines and fiscal accountability.
Serves as the liaison to the Association of Rural and Small Schools, including serving as the ISBE representative to support the Rural Education Advisory Council.
Serves as the contact for program coordination services and site visits with local rural school districts including with the State Superintendent.
Analyzes legislation to provide input to ISBE leadership on the impact on rural district communities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree.
(COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) Professional Educator License with ISBE.
Three to five years experience working with or in public school districts.
Knowledge of public school operations.
Skilled in organizational leadership and change management.
Ability to self direct work and produce outcomes.
Competent in project management and meeting deadlines.
Exemplary spoken and written communication skills.
Knowledge of education policy.
Ability to motivate and lead others.
Ability to cultivate positive relationships.
Fluent in usage of Microsoft Suite programs and functions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Endorsement on Professional Educator License in school administration such as superintendent, principal, special education director or bilingual director.
Experience in public school/district administration.
Experience working in public education policy.
Knowledge of effective family engagement programs and practices.
