Job Standards The City of Springfield is seeking an individual to work in the area of labor relations and labor negotiations for the City of Springfield; provide guidance and advice on labor and/or employee relations issues, policies, practices, procedures; and research and analyze issues in bargaining, contract administration, grievance resolution, and managerial and labor rights mediation.
This position requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college in labor relations or a closely related field and four years’ experience in labor relations with extensive labor negotiations.
Juris Doctorate (JD) and license to practice law in the State of Illinois is required.
Must have exceptional written and oral communications skills.
Must also possess the ability to organize facts and analyze proposals and positions; think quickly in adversarial situations; and make effective public presentations.
