**Position can be based out of Akron, OH; Milford, OH; Wadsworth, OH; Alliance, OH; Elkhart, IN; Bristol, IN; Springfield, MO; South Bend, IN; South Beloit, IL; Littleton, CO; Ridgefield, WA; Miami, OK; Midland, MI** Position Overview: The Safety Regulatory and Workers Compensation Manager plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety regulatory requirements and managing workers' compensation programs within the organization.
This position involves overseeing safety regulatory compliance across various operations, as well as implementing strategies to minimize workplace injuries and facilitate efficient claims management.
Duties and Responsibilities • Safety Regulatory Compliance: • Monitor changes in federal, state, and local regulations affecting the organization's safety operations.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Provide guidance and training to locations on regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Workers' Compensation Management: • Manage the organization's workers' compensation program, including claims administration and resolution.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, Third Party Administrators (TPA’s), insurance providers, and legal counsel to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims.
• Provide direction regarding investigation of workplace accidents and injuries, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing incident reports.
• Provide direction on return-to-work programs and accommodations to support injured employees' recovery and reintegration into the workforce.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: • Identify and assess potential risks related to safety regulatory compliance and workers' compensation.
• Develop risk management strategies and controls to minimize legal exposure and financial impact.
• Collaborate with HR and EHS leaders to implement risk mitigation measures and monitor their effectiveness over time.
• Policy Development and Implementation: • Develop, review, and update policies and procedures related to safety regulatory compliance and workers' compensation.
• Ensure that policies are communicated effectively to employees and are consistently applied throughout the organization.
• Provide guidance and support to departments in implementing and enforcing regulatory and safety-related policies.
• Reporting and Documentation: • Prepare and submit safety (e.

OSHA, MOL) regulatory reports, filings, and disclosures in accordance with deadlines.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety regulatory compliance activities, including audit findings, corrective actions, and training documentation.
• Generate reports on workers' compensation claims, costs, and trends for management review and decision-making purposes.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, occupational health and safety, or a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree or professional certification (e.
g.
, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, Certified Workers' Compensation Professional) preferred.
• Proven experience in safety regulatory compliance management and workers' compensation administration, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations governing workplace safety, workers' compensation, and related areas.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
