Responsibilities:
* Lead a classroom of young learners, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
* Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that encourage exploration, creativity, and a love of learning.
* Collaborate with the Director to ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and educational standards.
* Assist in managing daily operations, including staff schedules, enrollment, and parent communication.
* Mentor and guide teaching staff, providing ongoing support, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
* Contribute to administrative tasks such as record-keeping, budgeting, and reporting.
* Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback.
* Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
* Must meet DCFS 407 qualifications including but not limited to: high school diploma or equivalency certificate and sufficient college credit hours in child care and/or child development courses
* Background check required
* Minimum of two years of prior experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood education setting.
* Strong understanding of child development and evidence-based teaching practices.
* Exceptional classroom management and communication skills.
* Proven ability to mentor and guide fellow educators.
* Knowledge of licensing requirements and regulations for daycare centers.
* Organizational skills to manage both teaching responsibilities and administrative tasks.
