A typical problem for the incumbent entails identifying and resolving a user’s production system issue in an expeditious manner so that administrative operations remain on schedule.

The incumbent maintains contact with users for the purpose of understanding their system needs.

S/He is constrained by departmental regulations and policies.

Keeping abreast of user needs allows the Bureau of Information Processing to effectively plan for new systems and/or enhancements to existing systems.
External contacts include other state agencies and software vendors.
This position requires occasional statewide travel which may include overnight stays.
The effectiveness of this position can be measured by the ability of the incumbent to recognize and understand users’ needs and subsequently develop application solutions to meet these needs.
Another measurement of the incumbent’s effectiveness is the successful training of users in the use of automated solutions.
