Position Summary
Salary range for this role is $44,200 - $55,300 based upon experience.
This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area.
Essential Functions
Assess customer needs and timing of deliveries
Manage daily delivery schedule for drivers, driver utilization
Plan deliveries and load plan drivers
Receive orders from account managers or directly from accounts/customers
Provide frontline customer service for existing accounts
Answer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
Monitor e-mail for incoming changes, updates, and communication between team members and our customers
Monitor web portals and customer portals
Monitor and update Teams spreadsheets
Create and update loads in dispatch system, to include updating load board on a regular basis
Divide dispatch responsibilities with other team members
Backfill loads as needed, to include assisting other terminals with open loads when you have driver availability
Assist with driver breakdowns, absence tracking, misc admin duties
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of dispatching experience
Excellent conflict resolution and skills
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
