Description The individual in this position reviews scanned documents and batches in LiveScan to help determine scanned documents placement within the TouchWorks chart.
They will assign batches/indexing work to the rest of the team, review the quality and accuracy of documents indexed by the Central Indexing unit and track any errors discovered.
They will also maintain a record of daily production and work received for the Central Indexing Unit.
They will provide coverage for the Health Information Administrator as needed.
Examples of Duties 74% Daily Work Routines 1.
Serves as team leader for document indexing staff and coordinates daily indexing activities to ensure team is working efficiently and meeting prescribed turnaround times for the indexing of scanned documents.

Enters staff daily production totals into the production tracking spreadsheet, reports number of batches from previous day to Health Information Administrator.
3.
Returns scanned documents to appropriate clinic/division for correction.
Identifies problems with scanned documents and takes appropriate action to ensure documents can be indexed, follows up when needed 4.
Updates the SIU Playbook, the master worksheet for filing of scanned documents Revised: 10/11/23 5.
Indexes 800 pages or more per day 6.
Runs LiveScan system audits as needed to correct errors, monitor production 7.
Answers questions regarding indexing procedures, responds appropriately to emails from supervisor and administrators.

Reviews any reports of indexing errors, returns documents to LiveScan queue if correction needed, notifies indexing staff of error, records error on tracking sheet.
9.
Assists walk-in patients when onsite.

Participates in the development and delivery of training processes and procedures for indexing scanned documents into TouchWorks.

Assists in gathering information for the preparation of reports.
3.
Trains new employees on unit operations.
4.
Reports issues with LiveScan to the appropriate person and department.
5.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications 1.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2.
Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below: A.
Coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: - 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) - Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) - 90-semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) - Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) B.
Work experience performing office, business, or customer service/relations activities.
