*Position Overview* The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the staff assistant to the Division Chief of Long-Term Care Field Operations for the Office of Health Care Regulation.
Performs a variety of sensitive and confidential administrative functions necessary to the operation of the Division of Long Term Care Field Operations.
*Job Responsibilities* 1.
Functions as the staff assistant to the Division Chief for Long Term Care Field Operations.
2.
Oversees the personnel process for the Division of Long-Term Care Field Operations.
3.
Independently responds to inquiries regarding the assigned programs for the Division of LTC FO.
4.
Assists the Bureau Chief of Long Term Care by providing administrative assistance to the Illinois Long-Term Care Advisory Board and Developmentally Disabled Advisory Board.
5.
Represents the Division Chief at meetings as required.
6.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
*Minimum Qualifications* Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in public or business administration.
Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency-approved professional management training program.
*Preferred Qualifications* Three years experience in Microsoft Office Suite (i.
e.
, Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Three years experience developing SmartSheets.
Thorough knowledge of virtual communication applications (i.
e.
, WebEx, Zoom).
One year experience working with agency programs, rules, and regulations.
Two years experience preparing correspondence in a professional manner consistent with applicable policies and procedures.
One year experience communicating clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
