*Veterinary Assistant Position Available – Full Time / Part Time *
We are a fast-paced, well-established veterinary practice operating in Athens and Sherman, Illinois with three highly skilled veterinarians.
We are currently seeking applicants for a veterinary assistant position.
We are looking for someone who loves working with animals of all kinds and is adaptable to the ever changing environment of veterinary medicine.
Experience is a plus, but not necessary for the right applicant! A willingness to problem-solve in both a group or individual setting is key.
You must be 18 years or older and willing to travel as needed between both clinic locations.

Some basic duties of this position include the following:
· Provide assistance to our veterinarians in various settings.
· Greet patients and their owners cordially in person, on the phone and through social media
· Performing administrative duties as needed – i.
e.
answering phones, making appointments, checking clients out in a quick and timely manner
· Take pet’s weights and basic information regarding the reason for the visit
· Provide safe and proper restraint of animals during procedures and examinations
· Be able to help during radiology procedures
· Clean and maintain the surgical room in preparation for procedures
· Prepare, clean and maintain instruments and medications as directed by overseeing veterinarians
· Help to educate clients and aid in their understanding of procedures, medications, conditions, prices, ect.
as directed by our veterinarians
